"Duration does not begin until triggered ×2.75" is the way to build things that take effect reactively - you cast them in advance to prime them, and then when the trigger takes place, the spell goes off. You can build Featherfall the same way, as instantaneous invulnerability to bludgeoning damage that doesn't take effect until triggered by a fall of 10' or more.
I had to make an adjustment after publishing. Pilsami, on the ACKS Discord, pointed out that my stacking of multipliers was off so the abuse section was removed.
